Does the sun always stay in the same spot or does it seem to move across the sky? Can the sun help us tell what time it is? What is a shadow? Can we use our shadows to tell time? These are just a few of the questions you can gather evidence to help you answer while you do this mission.
In this mission, you are challenged to create your own sundial.
It does have to be sunny outside for you to set this up and do it. Make sure it is a sunny day, that you have an open flat spot, and that you have several hours. You will have to check back throughout the day. It will not take long, but you and your Science Buddy will need to keep track of the time too.
Here a few different designs to make your own sundial. Click on the picture for the design you want to try.
